Causes and Methods of Conflict Resolution for
Private Primary School Administrators under
Samut Prakan Primary Education Office Area 1
The objectives of this research were to: 1) study the causes of conflicts in the opinion of private primary school administrators under Samut Prakan Primary Educational Office Area 1, 2) study the methods of conflict resolution that these administrators employ, and 3) compare the opinion of these administrators classified by gender, age, education level and work experience. The sample group consisted of 108 administrators. The research instrument was a five-scale rating questionnaire with a reliability of .95. The data were analysed for percentage, mean, standard deviation; and mean difference was tested by t-test. The research revealed that: 1) the causes of conflicts in the opinion of private primary school administrators under Samut Prakan Primary Education Office Area 1 were: (1) work related, (2) interpersonal, and (3) interorganizational; 2) the private school administrators’ methods of conflict resolution from the highest to the lowest mean were compromising, collaborating, yielding, avoiding and competition respectively; 3) the comparison of methods of conflict resolution of private primary school administrators classified by gender, age, education level and work experience were not different.
